Yazid and Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, they said: al-Mas'udi informed us, from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, from Ibn Ka'b ibn Malik, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "The likeness of the believer is that of a tender stalk of crop, which the winds bend - it is knocked down once and then rights itself again - until its appointed time comes to it. And the likeness of the disbeliever is that of the firm cedar tree, standing upon its root, unmoved by anything, until it is uprooted all at once."
