حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْأَخْنَسِ بْنِ شَرِيقٍ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ وَكَانَتْ خَالَتَهُ فَسَقَتْنِي شَرْبَةً مِنْ سَوِيقٍ فَلَمَّا قُمْتُ قَالَتْ لِي أَيْ بُنَيَّ لَا تُصَلِّيَنَّ حَتَّى تَتَوَضَّأَ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَتَوَضَّأَ مِمَّا مَسَّتْ النَّارُ مِنْ الطَّعَامِ.

Ya'qub told us: my father told us: and Ibn Ishaq told us: Muhammad bin Muslim bin Shihab told me, from Abu Salamah bin 'Abd al-Rahman bin 'Awf, from Abu Sufyan bin Sa'id bin al-Akhnas bin Shariq, who said: I entered upon Umm Habibah, and she was my maternal aunt, and she gave me a drink of sawiq. When I stood up, she said to me: "O my son, do not pray until you perform ablution, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded us to perform ablution from what the fire has touched of food."
