حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ الْعَصَرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَبَلَةُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ تَضَيَّفْتُ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ خَالَتِي وَهِيَ لَيْلَةَ إِذْ لَا تُصَلِّي فَأَخَذَتْ كِسَاءً فَثَنَتْهُ وَأَلْقَتْ عَلَيْهِ نُمْرُقَةً ثُمَّ رَمَتْ عَلَيْهِ بِكِسَاءٍ آخَرَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَتْ فِيهِ وَبَسَطَتْ لِي بِسَاطًا إِلَى جَنْبِهَا وَتَوَسَّدْتُ مَعَهَا عَلَى وِسَادِهَا فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ صَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ فَأَخَذَ خِرْقَةً فَتَوَازَرَ بِهَا وَأَلْقَى ثَوْبَهُ وَدَخَلَ مَعَهَا لِحَافَهَا وَبَاتَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ قَامَ إِلَى سِقَاءٍ مُعَلَّقٍ فَحَرَّكَهُ فَهَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَقُومَ فَأَصُبَّ عَلَيْهِ فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ يَرَى أَنِّي كُنْتُ مُسْتَيْقِظًا قَالَ فَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ أَتَى الْفِرَاشَ فَأَخَذَ ثَوْبَيْهِ وَأَلْقَى الْخِرْقَةَ ثُمَّ أَتَى الْمَسْجِدَ فَقَامَ فِيهِ يُصَلِّي وَقُمْتُ إِلَى السِّقَاءِ فَتَوَضَّأْتُ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ فَتَنَاوَلَنِي فَأَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ فَصَلَّى وَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ قَعَدَ وَقَعَدْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فَوَضَعَ مِرْفَقَهُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ وَأَصْغَى بِخَدِّهِ إِلَى خَدِّي حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ نَفَسَ النَّائِمِ فَبَيْنَا أَنَا كَذَلِكَ إِذْ جَاءَ بِلَالٌ فَقَالَ الصَّلَاةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَسَارَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ وَاتَّبَعْتُهُ فَقَامَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْ الْفَجْرِ وَأَخَذَ بِلَالٌ فِي الْإِقَامَةِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
I was a guest of Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him), who is my maternal aunt. It was a night when she was not praying (due to menstruation). She took a cloak, folded it, placed a cushion on it, then covered it with another cloak and went to sleep. She spread a mat beside her for me, and I shared her pillow. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) came after praying the late Isha prayer. He took a piece of cloth as a waist-wrap, set aside his garment, and entered her covers. He slept until the latter part of the night, then got up and went to a hanging waterskin and shook it. I thought about getting up to pour water for him, but I disliked him knowing I was awake. He performed ablution, then came to the bed, took his garments and set aside the cloth. Then he went to the mosque and stood praying. I went to the waterskin, performed ablution, then came to the mosque and stood to his left. He reached over and placed me on his right. He prayed, and I prayed with him, thirteen rak'ahs. Then he sat, and I sat beside him. He placed his elbow by his side and leaned his cheek against my cheek until I heard the breathing of a sleeper. While I was like that, Bilal came and said: 'The prayer, O Messenger of Allah!' He went to the mosque, and I followed him. He stood and prayed the two rak'ahs of Fajr while Bilal called the iqamah.
