Yahya narrated to us, from Hisham, he said: My father informed me, from Aisha, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said during his illness in which he died, "Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." I said, "If Abu Bakr stands in your place, he will not be able to make the people hear because of his weeping." He said, "Order Abu Bakr." So I said to Hafsah, "Say: Abu Bakr cannot make the people hear because of his weeping - perhaps you could ask him to order Umar." He said, "You are like the female companions of Joseph! Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." So Hafsah turned to me and said, "I was never going to get any good out of you."
