حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ قَالَ خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ أَخْبَرَنِي عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ فِي خِلَافَتِهِ قَالَ وَعِنْدَهُ عِرَاكُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ مَا اسْتَقْبَلْتُ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُهَا بِبَوْلٍ وَلَا غَائِطٍ مُنْذُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ عِرَاكٌ حَدَّثَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا بَلَغَهُ قَوْلُ النَّاسِ فِي ذَلِكَ أَمَرَ بِمَقْعَدَتِهِ فَاسْتَقْبَلَ بِهَا الْقِبْلَةَ.

Ali ibn Asim told us, he said: Khalid al-Hadhdha' informed me, from Khalid ibn Abi al-Salt, who said: I was with Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz during his caliphate, and Irak ibn Malik was with him. Umar said, "I have not faced the qiblah, nor turned my back to it, with urine or excrement, for such-and-such a time." Irak said, "Aisha narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when the people's talk about that reached him, ordered that his place of sitting be arranged so that it faced the qiblah."
