حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كَانَ يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ يَوْمًا يَصُومُهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَكَانَتْ قُرَيْشٌ تَصُومُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ صَامَهُ وَأَمَرَ بِصِيَامِهِ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ رَمَضَانُ كَانَ رَمَضَانُ هُوَ الْفَرِيضَةَ وَتَرَكَ عَاشُورَاءَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yahya ibn Zakariyya narrated to us: Hisham ibn Urwah narrated to us, from his father, from Aisha, who said: The day of Ashura was a day the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to fast in the Age of Ignorance, and Quraysh used to fast it in the Age of Ignorance. When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came to Madinah, he fasted it and commanded that it be fasted. Then when Ramadan was revealed, Ramadan became the obligatory fast, and Ashura was left as optional.
