حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَمَثَّلُ شَيْئًا مِنْ الشِّعْرِ قَالَتْ قَدْ كَانَ يَتَمَثَّلُ مِنْ شِعْرِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَوَاحَةَ وَيَقُولُ وَيَأْتِيكَ بِالْأَخْبَارِ مَنْ لَمْ تُزَوِّدِ.

Abu al-Nadr narrated to us: Sharik narrated to us, from al-Miqdam ibn Shurayh, from his father, who said: I said to Aisha, Did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ever quote any poetry? She said: He used to quote from the poetry of Abdullah ibn Rawahah and say: 'And there brings you news he whom you did not provision.'
