حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ ثَابِتٌ عَنْ شُمَيْسَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ لَهُ فَاعْتَلَّ بَعِيرٌ لِصَفِيَّةَ وَفِي إِبِلِ زَيْنَبَ فَضْلٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ بَعِيرًا لِصَفِيَّةَ اعْتَلَّ فَلَوْ أَعْطَيْتِهَا بَعِيرًا مِنْ إِبِلِكِ فَقَالَتْ أَنَا أُعْطِي تِلْكَ الْيَهُودِيَّةَ قَالَ فَتَرَكَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَا الْحِجَّةِ وَالْمُحَرَّمَ شَهْرَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً لَا يَأْتِيهَا قَالَتْ حَتَّى يَئِسْتُ مِنْهُ وَحَوَّلْتُ سَرِيرِي قَالَتْ فَبَيْنَمَا أَنَا يَوْمًا بِنِصْفِ النَّهَارِ إِذَا أَنَا بِظِلِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُقْبِلٌ قَالَ عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنِيهِ حَمَّادٌ عَنْ شُمَيْسَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُهُ بَعْدُ يُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ شُمَيْسَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ و قَالَ بَعْدُ فِي حَجٍّ أَوْ عُمْرَةٍ قَالَ وَلَا أَظُنُّهُ إِلَّا قَالَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ.

Affan narrated to us: Hammad narrated to us: Thabit, from Shumaysah, from A'ishah, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was on one of his journeys, and a camel belonging to Safiyyah became lame, while Zaynab's camels had a surplus. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to her: "A camel of Safiyyah's has become lame; why don't you give her one of your camels?" She said: "Should I give that Jewess one?" So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, left her for two or three months - Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram - not coming to her. She [A'ishah] said: "Until I despaired of him and moved my bed." She said: "Then one day at midday, I suddenly saw the shadow of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, approaching." Affan said: Hammad narrated this to me from Shumaysah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, directly; then I later heard him narrate it from Shumaysah, from A'ishah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and afterward he said "during a Hajj or an Umrah," and said: "I think he only said: 'during the Farewell Pilgrimage.'"
