حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ شَيْبَةَ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ حَدَّثَتْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ قَالَ عَفَّانُ مَرَّةً بِقَدْرِ مُدٍّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ.

Affan told us: Aban told us: Qatada told us: Safiyya bint Shayba told me that Aisha told her that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to perform ablution with a mudd - Affan said once: about the measure of a mudd - and take a full bath with a sa'.
