Abd al-Samad narrated to us: Sulayman ibn Kathir narrated to us, he said: al-Zuhri narrated to us, from Urwah, from Aishah, that she said: The sun eclipsed during the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came to the place of prayer, and said the takbir, and the people said the takbir; then he recited, reciting aloud, and prolonged the standing; then he bowed and prolonged the bowing; then he raised his head and said, "Allah hears whoever praises Him"; then he stood and recited, prolonging the recitation; then he bowed and prolonged the bowing; then he raised his head, then prostrated; then he stood and did the same in the second rak'ah; then he said, "Indeed the sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah, Mighty and Sublime; they do not eclipse for the death of anyone nor for his life. So when you see that, hasten to prayer."
