الترجمة الإنجليزية
Aisha said: "Barirah's husband was a free man. When she was freed, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) gave her the choice, and she chose herself (i.e., to separate). Her owners wanted to sell her and stipulate the right of patronage (wala'). I mentioned that to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and he said: 'Buy her and free her, for patronage belongs to the one who frees.'"
