Sufyan narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, entered on the day of the Conquest riding a she-camel belonging to Usamah bin Zayd, and made it kneel — meaning at the Ka'bah. Then he called for Uthman bin Talhah to bring the key. He went to bring it, but his mother refused to give it up. He said: You will surely give it to me, or the sword will come out from my loins. So she handed it over, and he opened the door, and the Prophet entered with Bilal, Uthman, and Usamah, and they closed the door upon themselves for a good while. Ibn Umar said: I was a strong young man, so I hurried ahead of the people and outran them, and found Bilal standing at the door. I said: Where did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, pray? He said: Between the two front pillars — and I forgot to ask him how many rak'ahs he prayed.
