Waki' narrated to us: Ibn Abi Layla narrated to us from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa'd ibn Zurara from Muhammad ibn Shurahbil from Qays ibn Sa'd, who said: "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us, so we prepared water for him and he washed. Then we brought him a cloak dyed with wars, and he wrapped himself in it -- it is as if I am [still] looking now at the mark of the wars-dye upon his flank-folds. Then we brought him a donkey for him to ride, and the owner of the donkey said, 'The owner has more right to the front of his donkey.' So we said, 'O Messenger of Allah, then the donkey is yours.'"
