Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, from Abu Salama, from Abu Hurayra, who said: Then I met Abdullah ibn Salam, and I told him my hadith and Ka'b's account regarding his saying 'once every year.' He said: Ka'b has erred; it is as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said -- every Friday. I said: He has since retracted that. He said: By the One in whose hand is the soul of Abdullah ibn Salam, I indeed know that hour. I said: O Abdullah, then tell me about it. He said: It is the last hour of Friday. I said [the same objection], he said: No believer coincides with it while praying without being answered. He said: Have you not heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever awaits a prayer is considered as being in prayer until he prays? I said: Yes indeed. He said: Then it is like that.
