Sufyan told us -- and al-Zuhri also heard it -- from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab and Haram ibn Sa'd ibn Muhayyisah, that a she-camel belonging to al-Bara' ibn Azib entered the orchard of some people and caused damage. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled that the guarding of property was the responsibility of its owners during the day, and that the owners of livestock were responsible for whatever it did at night. Yazid told us: Muhammad ibn Ishaq informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Haram ibn Sa'idah ibn Muhayyisah ibn Mas'ud, from his father, from his grandfather Muhayyisah ibn Mas'ud, who said: He had a slave who was a cupper -- and he mentioned the hadith.
