حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ قَرَأَهُ عَلَيَّ يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ أَنَّهُ رَأَى سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ يُوتِرُ بِرَكْعَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ لَا يَزِيدُ عَلَيْهَا حَتَّى يَقُومَ مِنْ جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abdullah ibn al-Harith told us, he said: Yunus read it to me, from Ibn Shihab, he said: Abdullah ibn Tha'labah informed me -- and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had wiped his face -- that he saw Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas perform witr with a single rak'ah, not adding to it, until he would rise in the depth of the night.
