Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu Qabil narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Nashir of Banu Sari', who said: I heard Abu Ruhm, the storyteller of the people of Syria, say: I heard Abu Ayyub al-Ansari say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came out to them one day and said to them: Your Lord, Mighty and Majestic, gave me a choice between seventy thousand entering Paradise without reckoning, and the treasure He holds for my nation. One of his companions said to him: O Messenger of Allah, does your Lord keep such a treasure hidden? So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, went in, then came back out saying the takbir, and said: My Lord, Mighty and Majestic, has increased it for me — with every thousand, seventy thousand more — and the treasure remains held with Him. Abu Ruhm said: O Abu Ayyub, what do you suppose is the hidden treasure of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him? The people speculated loudly and said: What is it to you and the treasure of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him? So Abu Ayyub said: Leave the man be; I will tell you about the hidden treasure of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, as I suppose — rather, as one certain: the hidden treasure of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, is that he will say: My Lord, whoever bore witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, his heart confirming what his tongue professed — admit him into Paradise.
