Isma'il narrated to us, Khalid al-Hadhdha' narrated to us, from al-Qasim ibn Rabi'ah, from Uqbah ibn Aws — and Isma'il said once: Ya'qub ibn Aws — from a man among the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, delivered a sermon at the time of the Conquest — and he said once: on the Day of the Conquest of Mecca — and he said: There is no god but Allah alone; He fulfilled His promise, granted victory to His servant, and defeated the confederates alone. Indeed every claim of honor that is counted or claimed, and every blood-feud and property claim, is beneath these two feet of mine, except the custodianship of the House or the providing of water to pilgrims. Indeed the one killed by mistake resembling intentional killing — Khalid said, or he said: the one killed by mistake resembling deliberate killing, killed by a whip or a stick — the blood-money for him is a hundred camels, forty of which are pregnant.
