حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الشَّامِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي قَيْسٍ قَالَ عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ أُرَاهُ عَنْ هُزَيْلٍ قَالَ قَامَ حُذَيْفَةُ خَطِيبًا فِي دَارِ عَامِرِ بْنِ حَنْظَلَةَ فِيهَا التَّمِيمِيُّ وَالْمُضَرِيُّ فَقَالَ لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى مُضَرَ يَوْمٌ لَا يَدَعُونَ لِلَّهِ عَبْدًا يَعْبُدُهُ إِلَّا قَتَلُوهُ أَوْ لَيُضْرَبَنَّ ضَرْبًا لَا يَمْنَعُونَ ذَنَبَ تَلْعَةٍ أَوْ أَسْفَلَ تَلْعَةٍ فَقِيلَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ تَقُولُ هَذَا لِقَوْمِكَ أَوْ لِقَوْمٍ أَنْتَ يَعْنِي مِنْهُمْ قَالَ لَا أَقُولُ يَعْنِي إِلَّا مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ.

It was narrated to us by Abu Ahmad, who said: It was narrated to us by Abdul-Jabbar ibn al-'Abbas al-Shami, from Abu Qays — Abdul-Jabbar said: I think from Huzayl — who said: Hudhayfah stood delivering a sermon in the house of 'Amir ibn Hanzalah, in which were both the Tamimi and the Mudari, and he said: 'A day will surely come upon Mudar in which they will not leave for Allah a worshipper worshipping Him but they will kill him, or they will be struck such a blow that they will not be able to defend even the far end of a valley or the near end of a valley.' It was said: 'O Abu 'Abdullah, do you say this of your own people, or of a people you belong to?' He said: 'I say nothing except what I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say.'
