حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ الْهَاشِمِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَشْهَلِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَتَأْمُرُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَلَتَنْهَوُنَّ عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ أَوْ لَيُوشِكَنَّ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَبْعَثَ عَلَيْكُمْ عِقَابًا مِنْ عِنْدِهِ ثُمَّ لَتَدْعُنَّهُ فَلَا يَسْتَجِيبُ لَكُمْ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Sulayman al-Hashimi told us, Isma'il - that is, Ibn Ja'far - informed us, 'Amr - that is, Ibn Abi 'Amr - informed me, from 'Abdullah b. 'Abd al-Rahman al-Ashhal, from Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, you shall enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, or God will indeed swiftly send upon you a punishment from Himself, and then you will call upon Him, but He will not answer you."
