حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبِي أَنَسٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ اخْتَلَفَ رَجُلَانِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِي أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَى فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا هُوَ مَسْجِدُ الرَّسُولِ وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ هُوَ مَسْجِدُ قُبَاءٍ فَأَتَيَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَاهُ فَقَالَ هُوَ مَسْجِدِي هَذَا حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ الْأَفْزَرُ مَوْلَى الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ مِنْ بَنِي عَمْرٍو فِي مُنَازَعَةٍ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.

Waki' told us: Rabi'ah ibn 'Uthman at-Taymi told us, from 'Imran ibn Abi Anas, from Sahl ibn Sa'd, who said: Two men disputed in the time of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, about the mosque that was founded upon piety. One of them said it was the Mosque of the Messenger, and the other said it was the Mosque of Quba. So they came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and asked him, and he said: It is this mosque of mine. Ya'qub told us: my father told us, from Ibn Ishaq: Abu Hazim al-Afzar, the client of al-Aswad ibn Sufyan al-Makhzumi, told me, from Sahl ibn Sa'd as-Sa'idi, of Banu 'Amr, regarding a dispute, and he related the account.
