الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ya'qub told us, my father told us, from Ibn Ishaq, Yazid ibn Abi Habib told me, from Marthad ibn 'Abdullah al-Yazani, from Abu 'Abdullah 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Usaylah al-Sunabihi, from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, who said: I was among those present at the First 'Aqabah, and we were twelve men. We gave the pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on the pledge of the women, and that was before fighting had been made obligatory: that we would not associate anything with Allah, not steal, not commit fornication, not kill our children, not bring forth a slander that we fabricate between our hands and our feet, and not disobey him in what is right. "If you fulfill this, Paradise is yours; and if you fall into any of that, your affair rests with Allah — if He wills He will punish you, and if He wills He will forgive you."
