الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, Shu'bah told us, from Khalid, who said: I heard Abu Qilabah narrating from Abu al-Ash'ath, from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, took from us the same pledge he took from the women, or from the people: that we would not associate anything with Allah, not steal, not commit fornication, not kill our children, not backbite, not slander one another, and not disobey him in what is right. So whoever among you commits an offense carrying a prescribed punishment for what he has been forbidden, and that punishment is carried out upon him, it is an expiation for him. And whoever's matter is deferred, his affair rests with Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He; if He wills He will punish him, and if He wills He will forgive him.
