حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفَلَ فِي الْبَدَاءَةِ الرُّبُعَ وَفِي الرَّجْعَةِ الثُّلُثَ.

Waki' told us, Sufyan told us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Ayyash ibn Abi Rabi'ah, from Sulayman ibn Musa, from Makhul, from Abu Sallam al-A'raj, from Abu Umamah, from Ubadah ibn al-Samit, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, allotted a quarter of the spoils as a bonus at the outset of a raid, and a third on the return.
