حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ وَحَجَّاجٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ رُؤْيَا الْمُؤْمِنِ أَوْ الْمُسْلِمِ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سِتَّةٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنْ النُّبُوَّةِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ.

Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us, from Shu'bah and Hajjaj, he said Shu'bah told me, from Qatadah, from Anas, from Ubadah ibn al-Samit, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him — Hajjaj said in his narration, "I heard Anas, from Ubadah ibn al-Samit, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him" — that he said: "The true dream of the believer, or the Muslim, is one part of forty-six parts of prophecy." Abd al-Rahman told us, Shu'bah told us, from Thabit, from Anas, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, the same.
