حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ عَنِ الصُّنَابِحِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَوْتِ فَبَكَيْتُ فَقَالَ مَهْلًا لِمَ تَبْكِي فَوَاللَّهِ لَئِنْ اسْتُشْهِدْتُ لَأَشْهَدَنَّ لَكَ وَلَئِنْ شُفِّعْتُ لَأَشْفَعَنَّ لَكَ وَلَئِنْ اسْتَطَعْتُ لَأَنْفَعَنَّكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَاللَّهِ مَا حَدِيثٌ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَكُمْ فِيهِ خَيْرٌ إِلَّا حَدَّثْتُكُمُوهُ إِلَّا حَدِيثًا وَاحِدًا سَوْفَ أُحَدِّثُكُمُوهُ الْيَوْمَ وَقَدْ أُحِيطَ بِنَفْسِي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ حُرِّمَ عَلَى النَّارِ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ مِثْلَهُ قَالَ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَلَيْهِ النَّارَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yunus ibn Muhammad told us, Layth told us, from Ibn Ajlan, from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban, from Ibn Muhayriz, from al-Sunabihi, who said: I entered upon Ubadah ibn al-Samit while he was dying, and I wept. He said: "Gently, why do you weep? By Allah, if I am asked to bear witness for you, I will bear witness for you; and if I am given the power to intercede, I will intercede for you; and if I am able, I will benefit you." Then he said: "By Allah, there is no hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, containing good for you but that I related it to you, except for one hadith which I will relate to you today, now that I am surrounded by death. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, the Fire is forbidden to him.'" Qutaybah told us the like of it, saying: "Allah, Blessed and Exalted, has forbidden the Fire to him."
