Ya'qub narrated to us, the nephew of Ibn Shihab narrated to me, from Muhammad ibn Shihab, Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf narrated to me, that Abu Hurayrah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "Whoever sees me in a dream will see me while awake - or it is as if he has seen me while awake. The devil cannot impersonate me." Abu Salamah said: Abu Qatadah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever sees me (in a dream) has truly seen me."
