حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى وَأَبُو الْيَمَانِ وَهَذَا حَدِيثُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْأُمْلُوكِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُ إِنَّا مُدْلِجُونَ فَلَا يُدْلِجَنَّ مُصْعِبٌ وَلَا مُضْعِفٌ فَأَدْلَجَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لَهُ صَعْبَةٍ فَسَقَطَ فَانْدَقَّتْ فَخِذُهُ فَمَاتَ فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي فِي النَّاسِ إِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لَا تَحِلُّ لِعَاصٍ إِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لَا تَحِلُّ لِعَاصٍ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ.

Ishaq ibn Isa and Abu al-Yaman narrated to us — and this is the wording of Ishaq — and they said: Isma'il ibn Ayyash narrated to us, from Rashid ibn Dawud al-Umluki, from Abu Asma al-Rahabi, from Thawban, freedman of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, during one of his journeys: "We shall travel by night, so let no one travel by night who has a difficult mount or a weak one." A man traveled by night on a difficult she-camel of his and fell, breaking his thigh, and died. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that the funeral prayer be performed for him, then ordered a caller to proclaim among the people: "Paradise is not lawful for one who dies in disobedience; Paradise is not lawful for one who dies in disobedience" — three times.
