حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِقُرَيْشٍ إِنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ لَا يَزَالُ فِيكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ وُلَاتُهُ حَتَّى تُحْدِثُوا أَعْمَالًا فَإِذَا فَعَلْتُمْ ذَلِكَ سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ شِرَارَ خَلْقِهِ فَالْتَحَوْكُمْ كَمَا يُلْتَحَى الْقَضِيبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ قَالَ فَالْتَحَوْكُمْ وَكَذَلِكَ قَالَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ وَقَالَ فَالْتَحَوْكُمْ قَالَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ كَمَا يُلْتَحَى الْقَضِيبُ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Mu'awiya ibn Hisham narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from al-Qasim ibn al-Harith, from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah ibn Utba, from Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Quraysh: "This authority will remain among you, and you will be its holders, until you introduce new practices; when you do that, Allah will empower over you the worst of His creation, and they will strip you as a green branch is stripped." Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Utba, who said "they will strip you" — and Abu Ahmad said likewise, "they will strip you" — Abu Nu'aym said, "as a green branch is stripped."
