Abdullah told us, my father told me, Abu Mu'awiyah - who is al-Darir - told us, al-A'mash told us, from Abu Sufyan, from Anas, who said: We came to Mu'adh and said, "Tell us some of the rare narrations of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him." He said: I was riding behind the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, on a donkey, and he said, "O Mu'adh." I said, "At your service, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Do you know what is the right of Allah upon His servants?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "The right of Allah upon His servants is that they worship Him and not associate anything with Him. Do you know what is the right of the servants upon Allah if they do that?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "The right of the servants upon Allah, if they do that, is that He will not punish them."
