Abdullah told us, my father told me, Isma'il ibn Ibrahim told us, al-Jurayri told us, from Abu al-Ward, from al-Lajlaj, Mu'adh told me: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came upon a man who was praying and saying in his supplication: O Allah, I ask You for patience. He said: You have asked for trial — ask Allah instead for well-being. And he came upon a man saying: O Allah, I ask You for the completion of Your favor. He said: O son of Adam, do you know what the completion of favor is? He said: O Messenger of Allah, a supplication I made, hoping for good through it. He said: The completion of favor is deliverance from the Fire and entry into Paradise. And he came upon a man saying: O Possessor of Majesty and Honor. He said: You have already been answered, so ask.
