حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَسَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُبْطِيَّةً كَثِيفَةً مِمَّا أَهْدَاهَا لَهُ دِحْيَةُ الْكَلْبِيُّ فَكَسَوْتُهَا امْرَأَتِي فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ لَمْ تَلْبَسْ الْقُبْطِيَّةَ قُلْتُ كَسَوْتُهَا امْرَأَتِي فَقَالَ مُرْهَا فَلْتَجْعَلْ تَحْتَهَا غِلَالَةً فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ تَصِفَ حَجْمَ عِظَامِهَا.

Zakariyya ibn Adi told us, Ubaydullah ibn Amr told us, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqil, from Muhammad ibn Usamah ibn Zayd, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, clothed me with a thick Egyptian garment which Dihyah al-Kalbi had given him as a gift, and I gave it to my wife to wear. He said: Why did you not wear the Egyptian garment? I said: I gave it to my wife to wear. He said: Tell her to put an under-garment beneath it, for I fear it may describe the shape of her bones.
