حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ شِمَاسَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نُؤَلِّفُ الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ الرِّقَاعِ إِذْ قَالَ طُوبَى لِلشَّامِ قِيلَ وَلِمَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنَّ مَلَائِكَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ بَاسِطَةٌ أَجْنِحَتَهَا عَلَيْهَا.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yahya ibn Ishaq told us: Yahya ibn Ayyub informed us: Yazid ibn Abi Habib told us, that Abd al-Rahman ibn Shimasa informed him that Zayd ibn Thabit said: While we were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, compiling the Qur'an from the scraps, he said: "Blessed is Syria!" It was said: "Why is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "The angels of the Merciful spread their wings over it."
