Abu 'Amir told us, 'Abd al-Malik ibn al-Hasan -- that is al-Jari -- told us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sa'id told us, who said: I heard 'Imarah ibn Haritha relate from 'Amr ibn Yathribi al-Damri, who said: I witnessed the sermon of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, at Mina, and among what he said in his sermon was: "It is not lawful for a man to take from his brother's property except what he willingly gives." He said: When I heard that, I said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think, if I come upon the sheep of my paternal cousin and take a sheep from it and slaughter it -- is there anything against me in that?" He said: "If you come upon it as a ewe carrying a knife and flints, do not touch it." This is the end of the Musnad of the Basrans, may Allah be pleased with them.
