I asked Ibn Abbas: 'Did you attend the Eid prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)?' He said: 'Yes, and had it not been for my closeness to him, I would not have attended it due to my young age.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came out and prayed two rak'ahs near the house of Kathir ibn al-Salt, then he delivered a sermon. He did not mention any adhan or iqamah. Then he went to the women and admonished and reminded them and commanded them to give charity.
