حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنِي فُضَيْلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ رَأَى أَبُو بَكْرَةَ نَاسًا يُصَلُّونَ الضُّحَى فَقَالَ إِنَّهُمْ لَيُصَلُّونَ صَلَاةً مَا صَلَّاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَا عَامَّةُ أَصْحَابِهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ.

'Ali b. 'Abdullah narrated to us: Mu'adh b. Mu'adh narrated to us: Shu'ba narrated to us: Fudayl b. Fadala narrated to me, saying: 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakra narrated to me, saying: Abu Bakra saw people praying the mid-morning prayer, and he said: "They are indeed praying a prayer that the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, never prayed, nor did the majority of his companions, may God be pleased with them."
