Hawdha b. Khalifa narrated to us: 'Abdullah b. 'Awn narrated to us, from Muhammad b. Sirin, from 'Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Bakra, from Abu Bakra, who said: When that day came, the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, mounted his she-camel, then stopped and said: "Do you know what day this is?" And he related the meaning of the hadith of Ibn Abi 'Adiyy, and said in it: "Let the one present convey it to the one absent" — twice — "for many a person conveyed to may be more mindful than the one who conveys, though his equal." Then he turned his she-camel toward some small sheep and began distributing them among the men — one sheep for two men, one sheep for three.
