حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرَةَ قَالَ أَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ يَتَعَاطَوْنَ سَيْفًا مَسْلُولًا فَقَالَ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ فَعَلَ هَذَا أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ نَهَيْتُ عَنْ هَذَا ثُمَّ قَالَ إِذَا سَلَّ أَحَدُكُمْ سَيْفَهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُنَاوِلَهُ أَخَاهُ فَلْيُغْمِدْهُ ثُمَّ يُنَاوِلْهُ إِيَّاهُ.

Abu al-Nadr and 'Affan narrated to us, both saying: al-Mubarak narrated to us, from al-Hasan, from Abu Bakra — 'Affan said in his narration: al-Mubarak narrated to us, saying: I heard al-Hasan say: Abu Bakra narrated to me, saying: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, came upon some people passing around a drawn sword, and he said: "God curses whoever does this — did I not forbid this?" Then he said: "When any of you draws his sword and looks at it, and wishes to hand it to his brother, let him sheathe it, then hand it to him."
