الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abd al-Samad and Affan told us, they said: al-Muthanna ibn Awf told us: Abu Abdullah al-Jasri told us, who said: I asked Ma'qil ibn Yasar about drink, and he said: "We were in Medina, and it had abundant dates, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us the fadikh [unripe date drink]." A man came to him and asked him about his elderly mother: "Shall I give her nabidh [date drink] to drink, for she cannot eat food?" So Ma'qil forbade him.
