حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ أَبِي مُوسَى وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِ عَمَّارٍ بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَاجَةٍ فَأَجْنَبْتُ فَلَمْ أَجِدْ الْمَاءَ فَتَمَرَّغْتُ فِي الصَّعِيدِ كَمَا تَمَرَّغُ الدَّابَّةُ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا كَانَ يَكْفِيكَ أَنْ تَقُولَ وَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ كُلَّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُمَا بِصَاحِبَتِهَا ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ لَمْ يُجِزْ الْأَعْمَشُ الْكَفَّيْنِ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Mu'awiya narrated to us: al-A'mash narrated to us, from Shaqiq, who said: I was sitting with Abu Musa and Abdullah, and Abu Musa said: "Have you not heard the saying of Ammar: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent me on an errand, and I became in a state of major ritual impurity and could not find water, so I rolled in the dust as an animal rolls. Then I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and mentioned that to him, and he said: 'It would have sufficed you to do this' - and he struck his hand on the ground, then wiped one hand with the other, then wiped his face with them." Al-A'mash did not confirm the mention of the palms.
