حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَطَاءٍ وَابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَّرَهَا حَتَّى ذَهَبَ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالْوِلْدَانُ فَخَرَجَ فَقَالَ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ أَنْ يُصَلُّوهَا هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) delayed it (the 'Isha prayer) until a good part of the night had passed. 'Umar said: "O Messenger of Allah, the women and children have fallen asleep." He came out and said: "Were it not that I would impose hardship on my ummah, I would have commanded them to pray it at this hour."
