حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الشَّرِيدِ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا شَرِبَ الرَّجُلُ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ أَرْبَعَ مِرَارٍ أَوْ خَمْسَ مِرَارٍ ثُمَّ إِذَا شَرِبَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ.

Ya’qub narrated to us: my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Abd Allah ibn Abi Asim ibn Urwah ibn Mas’ud al-Thaqafi narrated to me, that Amr ibn al-Sharid told him, that his father told him, that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "If a man drinks wine, flog him; then if he drinks again, flog him — four times or five times; then if he drinks again, kill him."
