Mu’ammal narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Ibrahim, from Hammam ibn al-Harith, from Adi ibn Hatim, who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I release my trained dog." He said, "When you release your trained dog and mention the name of Allah, and it catches game for you, then eat." I said, "Even if it kills it?" He said, "Even if it kills it, so long as no other dog joined it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I shoot with the mi’rad." He said, "What it pierces, eat; but what it strikes with its broad side and kills, do not eat." Abd Allah ibn al-Walid narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, from Hammam, from Adi ibn Hatim, who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah…" and he related the same meaning.
