حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ عَمِّي فِي غَزَاةٍ فَسَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أُبَيٍّ ابْنِ سَلُولَ يَقُولُ لِأَصْحَابِهِ لَا تُنْفِقُوا عَلَى مَنْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَلَئِنْ رَجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْأَذَلَّ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِعَمِّي فَذَكَرَهُ عَمِّي لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُبَيِّ ابْنِ سَلُولَ وَأَصْحَابِهِ فَحَلَفُوا مَا قَالُوا فَكَذَّبَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَدَّقَهُ فَأَصَابَنِي هَمٌّ لَمْ يُصِيبُنِي مِثْلُهُ قَطُّ وَجَلَسْتُ فِي الْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ عَمِّي مَا أَرَدْتَ إِلَى أَنْ كَذَّبَكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَقَتَكَ قَالَ حَتَّى أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ { إِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ } قَالَ فَبَعَثَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَرَأَهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ صَدَّقَكَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yahya ibn Adam and Yahya ibn Abi Bukayr told us: Isra'il told us, from Abu Ishaq, who said: I heard Zayd ibn Arqam — Ibn Abi Bukayr said, from Zayd ibn Arqam — say: I went out with my uncle on a military expedition, and I heard Abdullah ibn Ubayy ibn Salul say to his companions: Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allah, and if we return to Medina, the mightier will surely drive out the meaner from it. I mentioned that to my uncle, and my uncle mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sent for me, and I told him, so he sent for Abdullah ibn Ubayy ibn Salul and his companions, and they swore they had not said it. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, disbelieved me and believed him, and I was struck with distress the like of which had never struck me before, and I sat at home. My uncle said: What did you intend, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, should disbelieve you and become angry with you? He said: Until Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed {When the hypocrites come to you}. He said: So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent for me and recited it, then said: Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has indeed confirmed you as truthful.
