حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ مَوْلَى بَنِي ثَعْلَبَةَ عَنْ قُطْبَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَمِّ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ قَالَ نَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ مِنْ عَلِيٍّ فَقَالَ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَرْقَمَ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَنْهَى عَنْ سَبِّ الْمَوْتَى فَلِمَ تَسُبُّ عَلِيًّا وَقَدْ مَاتَ.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Bishr told us: Mis'ar told us, from al-Hajjaj, freedman of Banu Tha'labah, from Qutbah ibn Malik, uncle of Ziyad ibn 'Ilaqah, who said: al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah spoke ill of Ali, so Zayd ibn Arqam said: You know indeed that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade reviling the dead — so why do you revile Ali when he has died?
