حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيِّ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةٍ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ لَئِنْ رَجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْأَذَلَّ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ قَالَ فَحَلَفَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ شَيْءٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَلَامَنِي قَوْمِي وَقَالُوا مَا أَرَدْتَ إِلَى هَذَا قَالَ فَانْطَلَقْتُ فَنِمْتُ كَئِيبًا أَوْ حَزِينًا قَالَ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ أَنْزَلَ عُذْرَكَ وَصَدَّقَكَ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ { هُمْ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنْفِقُوا عَلَى مَنْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَنْفَضُّوا حَتَّى بَلَغَ لَئِنْ رَجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْأَذَلَّ }.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, from al-Hakam, from Muhammad ibn Ka'b al-Qurazi, from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said: I was with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on a military expedition, when Abdullah ibn Ubayy said: If we return to Medina, the mightier will surely drive out the meaner from it. He said: So I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and informed him. He said: Abdullah ibn Ubayy swore that none of that had happened. He said: My people blamed me and said: What did you intend by this? He said: So I went off and slept, distressed or grieved. He said: Then the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent for me — or I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him — and he said: Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has indeed sent down your vindication and confirmed you as truthful. He said: So this verse was revealed: {It is they who say, Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allah until they disperse} up to His saying: {If we return to Medina, the mightier will surely drive out the meaner from it}.
