حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ وَالْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ يَقُولَانِ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الذَّهَبِ بِالْوَرِقِ دَيْنًا حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ بَهْزٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ حَدَّثَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْمِنْهَالِ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي كِنَانَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الْبَرَاءَ عَنْ الصَّرْفِ فَقَالَ سَلْ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ فَإِنَّهُ خَيْرٌ مِنِّي وَأَعْلَمُ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ زَيْدًا فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ وَعَامِرُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ سَمِعَا أَبَا الْمِنْهَالِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الْبَرَاءَ وَزَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي حَسَنُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ زَيْدًا وَالْبَرَاءَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.

Yahya ibn Sa'id told us, from Shu'bah, from Habib — that is Ibn Abi Thabit — from Abu al-Minhal, who said: I heard Zayd ibn Arqam and al-Bara' ibn Azib say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade selling gold for silver on credit. Bahz and Affan also told us: Shu'bah told us — Bahz said in his narration: Habib ibn Abi Thabit told me, who said: I heard Abu al-Minhal, a man from Banu Kinanah, say: I asked al-Bara' about currency exchange, and he said: Ask Zayd ibn Arqam, for he is better than me and more knowledgeable. He said: I asked Zayd, and he mentioned the hadith. Rawh told us: Ibn Jurayj told us: Amr ibn Dinar and Amir ibn Mus'ab informed me, both of whom heard Abu al-Minhal say: I asked al-Bara' and Zayd ibn Arqam, and he mentioned something similar.
