حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عُمَرٍو عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْتِلُ عُرْفَ فَرَسٍ بِأُصْبُعَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ بِنَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ الْأَجْرُ وَالْمَغْنَمُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ.

Hushaym told us: Yunus informed us, from Amr ibn Sa'id, from Abu Zur'a ibn Amr, from Jarir ibn Abdullah, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, twisting a horse's forelock with his two fingers, saying, "Horses have goodness tied to their forelocks - reward and spoils - until the Day of Resurrection."
