الترجمة الإنجليزية
When Ali burned some people who had apostatized from Islam, the news reached Ibn 'Abbas, who said: "I would not have burned them with fire, for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Do not punish with the punishment of Allah.' But I would have executed them, because the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever changes his religion, execute him.'" When this reached Ali, he said: "How right Ibn 'Abbas is!"
