الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yahya bin Adam narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Ash'ath bin Abi al-Sha'tha', from Mu'awiyah bin Suwayd bin Muqarrin, from al-Bara' bin 'Azib, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded us with seven things and forbade us from seven things. He commanded us to visit the sick, follow funeral processions, accept invitations, spread the greeting of peace, say a blessing for one who sneezes, fulfil oaths, and help the wronged. And he forbade us gold rings, silver vessels, silk, brocade (dibaj), thick silk brocade (istabraq), red saddle-cloths, and qassiy (a striped silk-linen fabric). Abu Dawud 'Umar bin Sa'd narrated the same to us from Sufyan, but he did not mention 'spreading the greeting of peace' in it, and he said: 'he forbade us vessels of gold and silver.'
